A letter to God

Dear lord
What will a prayer
From a little man like me do?

Will it
Stop my brothers
From killing each other in endless,
Senseless wars.
Will it
stop,help that little girl
That cries at the empty
breast of its dead mother
I need to know Lord
I really need to know.

Will it
Provide solace to that
Mother that lived to
bury her child
will it
Voice the pain of my
Sisters-
that are
tortured, raped
And some burnt
alive in
The midst of what
we call civilization

Dear lord
What will a prayer
From a little man like me do?

Hmmm, I sometimes feel the same way about prayer but God answers prayers. If you have faith.

I feel like that lots of times. . what will my prayers accomplish.
I still have an internal conflict raging inside me about prayer and if mine really matter.

Mudamuli is right . .you must have faith.

Very profound - I'm pretty sure God read this and heard the prayer too :-) We can't make sense of all the madness in this world sometimes... However, God is good, ALL the time - regardless the madness... we just need to hold on to our faith... firmly.

Hope u good.. Have an awesome rest of the week.

This is something every one should have on their mind..Not only God but also man should hear such a prayer..
Before God all men are equal

I hardly get enough time for connecting with the blog fam but I always try to read.

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

That quoted...is God's answer.

My answer (in a less spiritual vein) is that the prayer is not so much that you direct the questions to God; but rather that you again force the reader to consider the subjects of your prayer.

In considering them the reader then makes a decision on whether to add their voice to yours in the appeal to God to protect them weaker than you from harm.

It is good Robyn, this prayer of yours, very effectual.

All we need to know, now and forever, is that God answers prayers....maybe not right when we want Him to or how we want Him to but he ALWAYS answers prayers.

...My thoughts put into words..
But a little prayer from anybody, whether they be great or small can do a lot! it can go a very long way to accomplish things you never thought of.
Prayer is Power! Prayer is the KEY
no matter how small.

Oh man, that I GET. Regaling in His presence is our purpose whether we are in crap, commotion or goodness. it appears that your exasperation can fuel a prayer and a gracious poem. WOW. God tends to all sparrows, what more of you 'Mere Man' who He gave His Son for?

I don't know what our cries to God actually achieve, in my heart I know he hears us...how can we stop praying for that which needs fixing!
And this prayer of yours is some prayer, beautiful. :)
